What does No Fault Mean?

Utah is a No Fault state

Utah is a No Fault state, which simply means that no matter who is found at fault the insurance on the vehicle you are in at the time of the car crash is responsible for covering all of your medical expenses, up to the amount of the personal injury protection or PIP benefits of the policy.

No Fault Is Great! Get Your Bills Paid.

No Fault is great because if you get injured in a crash and the other person doesn’t have insurance you still have coverage through the PIP benefits on your personal auto policy, or the policy on the vehicle that you are in. Remember that a No Fault state requires that you go through YOUR insurance company first and then through the insurance policy of the party at fault for any additional bills.
